"Trouble the Water"
Stephen Paul Bonnecarrere Jr., 10, traces patterns in the salt used to preserve gator hides at Daneco Alligator Farm in Houma, Louisiana on Friday, February 19, 2010. His parents were sorting a shipment of returned hides from a client who said they did not meet their quality expectations. Daneco currently has 14,000 skins sitting in cold storage without a buyer. It seems improbable that this little-known business is dependent on high society and expendable incomes around the world, but their demand fluctuates noticeably with the global marketplace.
